Paxil Lawsuit Settlements

Recent studies have found that women who took Paxil during their pregnancy were more likely to give birth to babies who suffered from Paxil birth defects than women who took other SSRIs or women who did not take any antidepressants during their pregnancy.

These Paxil birth defects can be life-threatening and include serious health problems such as congenital heart defects. Now, many women are filing their own lawsuits against the manufacturer alleging that GlaxoSmithKline did not properly warn of the increased risks of certain birth defects associated with Paxil use during pregnancy.

GlaxoSmithKline has paid billions of dollars to settle thousands of claims that the SSRI antidepressant may increase the risk for certain birth defects if taken during pregnancy. Many families whose children were born with birth defects, following their mother's use of Paxil during pregnancy, have received more than $1.5 million settlements each by filing their own lawsuits. There is no cost or obligation to have your claim assessed.

In October 2009, GSK was ordered to pay $2.5 million to the family of a three-year-old boy who was born with heart defects. The ruling stated that GSK officials "negligently failed to warn" about the risks associated with Paxil usage during of. Thousands of similar Paxil lawsuit cases have been filed and settled, and will continue to settle for years to come.

Paxil lawsuit settlements average in excess of $1.5 Million for many of the families that have filed their claim against the GlaxoSmithKline for their negligence and failure to warn.
